NEWS -GIVE-A-WAY: WIN A COPY OF THE U2 DOCUMENTARY DVD "FROM THE SKY DOWN"

Giveaway: Win A Copy Of The U2 Documentary DVD "From The Sky Down"

“It’s a beautiful day. Don’t let it get away.” If you aren’t aware of what iconic band sings those lyrics then take another shot with words from another track: “It’s everything I wish I didn’t know except you give me something I can feel, feel!” If you still can’t match these words to the outfit then you are in dire need of this giveaway. Those fans who can then you can add the U2 documentary DVD “From The Sky Down” to your Bono collection.
Yes, that’s right the first song is U2′s “Beautiful Day” and then second “Vertigo”. The Irish rock group have released 12 studio albums, sold more than 150 million records worldwide, won 22 Grammy Awards, more than any other band and in 2005, they were inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. So, shame on you Shockya readers who couldn’t match those lyrics to this band, but here is a shot to catch up on U2. “From The Sky Down” documents the history of the band up through the making of the 1991 album, “Achtung Baby”. Academy Award winning director, Davis Guggenheim charts the band’s path toward the groundbreaking album. He uses animation and unseen footage from Berlin and Dublin, along with conversations to reveal what is now a key chapter in U2′s career.
To win a DVD copy of “From The Sky Down”, you simply need to tell us in no more than 300 words, how you think U2 changed the course of rock music. What made the group different from other rock bands of the 80s? Was it solely due to Bono’s ethereal rock vocal or was it the riffs instilled within the songs? Or both?
You have until March 2nd to explain how U2 paved the path for rock music of the 21st Century. Remember to post your affectionate words in the comment section of this article and to e-mail your entry to freestuff@shockya.com.
