1101 LOFTIN MIDWEST CITY, OKLAHOMA - SOLD!!!

i have watched this house for 5 years.
been on the market. sat, empty. with a number of different dealers on it.

we actually went to look at it once, met with the realtor, were told that because craig was unemployeed, we shouldnt even think to put in an application for approval. it would be denied.

so it sat, another couple of years. changing hands...2 more times.

then one day. we saw people working on it, and the for sale sign was gone.
did they buy it?
are they Flipping it?
will it be for rent?
for..(and i so hope) RENT TO OWN?

we dont know.

what i do know is a company owns it now. i can find that info out by looking at the tax assessors site. and it tells me when the house was purchased and by whom.
 SKUNKTOWN PROPERTIES LLC

now a further search on the name SKUNKTOWN, doesnt yield me anything except a PO box. here in town.

the house sold for about 48K. pretty cheap. one of the reasons id keep my eye on it. id also go see if anyone new that had it would have a listing for this home as a rent to own.
i just looked online on craiglsit, punched in the address and found this:

so, its been flipped, and available for MORE cash than we pay for our current rent-to-own, by almost 200 extra dollars! (we pay about 600.00)

such a nice house, thats just going to be ruined by some renters who could care less about the house and the property.

they also, redid the converted garage front. made it a wall with a window. bad choice, in my opinion, was so much more appealing to have the door there. it allowed for so much more light in. now, as it stands, the only light that comes in that room, is from that one window, and that back door on the other end.

its not enough.

ill keep my eyes open for it, too see if these people decide to let it go, and the quality of tenant that they allow to move in.

it sure was a nice dream, while it lasted.
it saddens me, we didnt get it.

Other pics ive found online of the home.
Living room, looking into the dining area

living room with front door opened

looking from dining room, at living room with door opened

kitchen. that  counter thats on the left of the picture is about 6 feet long and has a mirrored back

this is the kitchen, in its whole, besides the above picture with the 6 foot counter, this is very tiny.

front bedroom, i was thinking of having as the main bedroom, OR as the PC room. i like the windows and the fact i can see from them if i was in a PC room.

Dining area, just off from the kitchen.

one bad flaw of this house. 1 bathroom.

more of the single bathroom

has a HUGE back yard. that has now been completely privacy fenced in.

small shed on property

back of house, the picture window is the dining room, the smaller picture window (left) is the kitchen, and the single small window is a back bedroom.

HOUSE OF INTEREST - 304 S BELL DR, MIDWEST CITY, OKLAHOMA

i frequently look for a home. one i can actually call my own. where i can paint it the colors, i like, or han pictures up on the walls. one where i feel it REALLY does belong to me, and i dont have to worry about a landlord trying to evict me, for silly reasons.

were in a rent-to-own right now, which by all accounts has been a very sweet deal for us. no credit check was required. just a 1st month, last month down. 30 days notice to move out, and an option to buy the home at a lease of 8 years, and another at 18 years (if we didnt buy it the 1st time round). on the LAST payment, wed pay 500.00 and the title would be turned over to us, and wed own the home.

but thats..well...10-14 years away...still.

so, i dream.
and im subscribed to various sites that offer a email list of local properties in my current area that meet the range of pricing we feel we could afford.

most of the homes come in well below that range.

like THIS property.

looking at the pictures this home has a very similar look and appearance to the 1st home we lived in on MORRAINE. with the exception of the fact that THIS home has 2 car garage, like the home we currently have.
it has SO much a feel of that 1st home, even right down to the small front window by the front door.

inside shots are very much the same as well once inside the living room.

as you can see from the above picture, the kitchen is directly straight across from the front door, crossing the living room area.
theres a slight difference in THIS home as opposed to the 1st home, in the resepct that the kitchen doesnt go the length beyond the closet wall you can see in this picture, in the 1st home the kitchen stretched to the right, hidden behind the wall.

in this picture the doorway goes back to an additonal room, in the 1st home, this was a small laundry area, and the access to the back yard, THIS house has a large bedroom back there. i might think to use it as a bedroom, OR as a storage area beyond the garage (which id want to convert ASAP into a larger living/den area)

kitchen has marginal cabinetry.i usually like more,a nd there very well may be, i cant see whats on the wall to the very right of this image...might be another pantry, shelving, or cabinets.

i DO like seeing the dishwasher is next to the sink, the home were in now, doesnt have that...the dishwasher is not as accessible to the sink, plus we have NO garbage disposal. so weve had 2 different dishwashers block up because it cant process the refuse from any dishes being washed.
i also like the fact theres a window where the sink is to the back yard. id place some white wire shlves there, and have some plants there.

BEDROOM 1

BEDROOM 2

BEDROOM 3

our last house had a bath and a half, same as our current home, THIS house has 2 full baths. now THATS a huge appeal to crag and myself.
BATHROOM 1

this seems to be a picture of the back room where i mentioned i may use it as such, or use as additional storage.

2nd bathroom, I JUST NOTICED THERES A LINEN CLOSET IN HERE! I REALLLY LIKE THAT TOO!

these are pictures of the 2 car garage. now i already like the fact it has a fireplace, and builtin shelves as well as a mantle...one of the reasons id like to convert it to a larger living room/den area.

EXTERIOR VIEWS OF THE HOME
back of the house with CENTRAL AIR

this gives an idea of the size of that back 4th bedroom. seems pretty big, and right now my bedroom is pretty tiny, roughly 10x10 and doesnt give us much room with other furniture in there to really have freedom to move around.

backyard has privacy fence, some of which will need to be fixed (as we wouldnt want our dogs getting out and running free)
also has a small shed for the yard tools, lawn mower, rake, potting soil, etc.

close up of the shed in the back yard

a month ago it went through a 7K drop, and last month a 6K drop. wonder if it will drop 5K by next month. would make it: 48K. pretty cheap.

i dont guess well ever be out of this place. but ill keep dreaming. never know.
i worry about the fact tht the landlord can decide to sell this home at any point to subsidies any income he feels he would need. doesnt seem likely since we had to get him (after trying for 3 years) to replace the roof. which leaked for 3 of the 4 years weve lived in this home...he paid for that, and expects us to pay that back at the end of this contract.

if i win any amount of millions, im not hanging in Oklahoma anyway, ill go back to columbia, where i know my way around better.

id like to live close to my best friend sandy. but she lives in ASHVILLE NC..seems to like it there allot too.
